Espresso Martini¶
An Espresso Martini uses Coffee Liqueur, and Coffee Liqueur uses espresso you brew yourself. This guide follows the default recipes from coffee cherries to three finished cocktails.
Requires: Heirloom Core, Mixology and Café. Distillery is optional. Server owners can change recipes, so check /hl if your server's ingredients differ.
1. Roast the coffee and pull two Espressos¶
Use Café's Oven recipes to prepare the beans:
Coffee Cherries → Light Roast Beans → Medium Roast Beans
You can roast medium beans once more for Dark Roast Beans. Either medium or dark beans work for espresso. Put one in the Barista Machine and brew for six seconds. Repeat to make two Espressos: one for the liqueur and one for the final cocktail.
The Oven is a stone pressure plate on a Smoker. The Barista Machine uses an iron trapdoor above quartz stairs. See the Café guide for growing coffee and the other coffee recipes.
2. Make Coffee Liqueur¶
Add these to the Mixology Table:
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Espresso | 1 |
| Rum | 1 |
| Sugar | 1 |
Right-click with an empty hand to start the eight-second shake, then collect one Coffee Liqueur. It is also used in Black Russians, White Russians, Mudslides and B-52s.
3. Shake the Espresso Martini¶
Add these to the same table:
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Vodka | 1 |
| Coffee Liqueur from step 2 | 1 |
| The second Espresso | 1 |
| Sugar | 1 |
| Ice, Packed Ice or Blue Ice | 0 or 1 — optional |
That is four required ingredients, or five with ice. Use one ice type only. Packed Ice gives a +0.10 quality bonus and Blue Ice +0.20; ordinary Ice has no quality bonus. Ice does not change the alcohol calculation.
Start the shaker, wait eight seconds, then collect three Espresso Martinis. Do not add an extra Glass Bottle. The bottled inputs provide the containers, and other emptied containers are returned by the recipe. Drinking each finished cocktail returns one Glass Bottle.
From the espresso stage onward, the whole chain uses 2 Espressos, 1 Rum, 1 Vodka and 2 Sugar, plus optional ice.
Where do the spirits come from?¶
Without Distillery¶
Mixology includes these 20-second Boiling Pot recipes:
| Output | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| Vodka | 4 Potatoes + 1 Sugar + 1 Water Bottle |
| Rum | 3 Sugar Cane + 1 Sugar + 1 Water Bottle |
The Water Bottle supplies the output container; no additional empty bottle is needed. These are the standalone recipes and disappear when compatible Distillery is active.
With Distillery¶
Make a potato-based mash, ferment it and distil it for Vodka. Use a sugar-cane base for Rum. Follow the current Distillery recipe previews in /hl for processing choices and quality guidance. Clicking the spirit ingredient in a Mixology recipe opens its linked production preview.
Your bottles' actual strengths carry through the Coffee Liqueur and the finished Espresso Martini. Mixing shares the batch's alcohol across its three drinks; the recipe does not force every cocktail to a fixed ABV.
